Removal Instructions

If you have any of our Lice Removal Kits proceed to the steps below.

STEP 1: PREPARE

We recommend lice removal should be performed where there is good lighting. Perhaps the kitchen, bathroom or even outside in the sun.

  • Place your family member on a stool with no chair back or turn chair sideways for access to back of head. Additional lighting may be needed.
  • Wrap a towel over their shoulders and clip it with a butterfly clip
  • You will need paper towels, a large bowl of warm water, butterfly hair clips and a rat tail comb.
  • STEP 2: SECTION HAIR

    Section Instructions;

  • Girls Hair - Section hair into 4 sections, then take each 1/4 section and divide in 1/2. You should now have a top half and a bottom half for a total of 8 sections.
  • Twist each hair section up and pin up out of the way with your butterfly clip.
  • Pull the bottom right section down first and start Here. Use rat tail comb to grab a paper thin section from the bottom of the bottom section, pin up rest of hair in that section out of way but you will need to keep grabbing hair from here frequently until you are finished with this 1/8 section.
  • Boys Hair - Butterfly clips can help if hair is long otherwise you can use clips to mark your spot where you left off.

  • STEP 3: APPLY COMB OUT MOUSSE and COMB OUT
  • Working a paper thin section apply small amount of enzyme mousse and use NNN-Terminator Comb to remove lice and eggs.
  • Wipe on paper towel or use bowl of water and your fingernail to separate teeth of comb. Which ever is easiest for you.
  • Do this through the entire head of hair. This loosens the glue on the egg.
  • Wash out and then dry before applying the NNN-Oil Treatment in next step.

  • STEP 4: APPLY OIL TREATMENT FORMULA and COMB OUT
  • Working a paper thin section apply small amount of NNN-Oil Treatment to the scalp and use NNN-Terminator Comb to remove lice and eggs. You will not need a lot of oil as you want some friction and you can apply more oil at end of treatment after combing is finished.
  • Wipe on paper towel or use bowl of water and your fingernail to separate teeth of comb to remove any lice or eggs. Which ever is easiest for you. Do this through the entire head of hair.
  • After you work through each section feel free to pull out all butterfly clips and starting at scalp run the lice comb through the entire full length of hair now then wipe it on paper towel after every pass. Continue combing until clean.
  • Leave oil on for up to 2 hours from time you start and wait at least 20 minutes from very last section. Wash out and then dry with your shampoo or a dish detergent.
  • STEP 5: FINISH UP
  • Your child should be on their way to being lice free and you may have removed everything if it was a light case.
  • If not, we do recommend you do this treatment on Day 1, Day 2, Day 3 and Day 7. It's important to catch any new eggs that may have hatched over the upcoming week.
  • After Day 7 call No Nit Noggins to schedule your Head Check and we can let you know if you were able to remove everything.

  • STEP 6: CLEAN UP
  • Carefully remove the towel from around your family members neck and throw in washing machine and be sure to clean up floor. Use lint roller brush to remove any remaining lice or eggs that may have fallen off the head during treatment. Carefully mop and vacuum area where you treated.
  • Put the lice comb in a pot of boiling water until it comes to a rolling boil for 2 minutes to disinfect lice comb or you can soak it in rubbing alcohol for up to 15 minutes.
  • Next rinse with clean water and dry with paper towel. Next place in freezer for 30 minutes to be sure. Be sure to do the same with hairbrushes or hair accessories.

  • STEP 7: NEXT DAY REPEAT
